GERMANY WORLD CUP 2006
Berlin
Berlin, the capital of reunified Germany, has developed into a lively city teeming with shops, restaurants, bars and businesses. After 30 years of division between East and West Germany, all that's left of the wall that divided the 2 peoples are fragments now used by graffiti artists.
But mixed in with the hustle and bustle of a busy business centre and its lively social hangouts, Berlin boasts freshly renovated theatres, museums and other grand buildings that survived the darker era of this city's history.
Its is thus fair to say that it has been well selected to play host to the World Cup's most important game - the final.
